Catchers have been considered to be cerebral, even in the face of sporting the “tools of ignorance,” Yogi Berra notwithstanding.
I’ve never thought of catchers as “cerebral” but it makes sense. They have great focus and seem almost engaged in a meditative practice. Definitely underrated.
