What do you consider “reasonable rates” on contracting the grandchildren ? Would there be hourly, daily, and possibly, weekend rates? Would you include delivery and pickup or would is that yet another opportunity for someone?
Thanks, Mary - I think side hustles are becoming more accepted, as young people look for more variety in their professional lives. But, you’re right, it’s interesting how certain words have taken on very specific meanings - look no further than “adult.”
You’re right, Bill. I overreacted. Really, just responded to the word, which has connotations for me that it doesn’t for younger folks. Times change; language evolves by necessity. For instance, the word “like” serves many conversational purposes, even though it isn’t generally appropriate in the written language. (I studied linguistics, but I’m also a writer, so I can get a little nuts about these things). And my kids often need “side hustles” to stay afloat financially. A crazy gig economy is brutal.
Does the rule of “no more than three” apply?
For you, Mary, unlimited. . .
Sky’s the limit? I’ll have to stock up on gummies . . . I mean Gummy Bears, of course!

I’ll send you a rate card - volume discounts available.
Escort?
Escort is an excellent side hustle, Gail - do you have recent professional experience?
No, as no one would want me as an escort
Not true, I’m sure.
true

Yeah, it’s definitely a different set of professional rules now. - the gig economy is quite challenging.
