Regarding your Beatles reference to "Band on the Run," - how about "You Better Run for Your Life" on Rubber Soul which reflects John's jealousy and includes these scary lyrics:
I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or you won't know where I am
… You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Good topic. You might want to run it back next week. I'm also amazed that you managed to avoid any run-on sentences. Does good grammar run in your family?
Bill, nice one. This is not your run-of-the-mill column. I liked the reference to Long Train Runnin’ (The Captain and Me) it brings to mind “It Keeps You Runnin’” (Takin’ It To The Streets, 1976). Ironically or coincidentally, 1976 was my Freshman / Sophomore year in college. Our Fraternity had a cook named “Elsie” who, as legend has it, made chili that kept you runnin’. That’s all for now, got to run.
Mike: I appreciate your running commentary on this topic - you enhanced the discussion, without running amok. Sounds like Elsie’s chili was something to run away from.

Hide your head in the sand, little girl
Catch you with another man
That's the end, little girl
Man, that's dark!

I feel a bit rundown after all this reading.

I knew we could count on you to class up the act a bit - thanks!
