Bill Southern, you forgot me as Bette! And I think you got Nancy wrong - she was played by PK Baxter! What a great trip down memory lane - my fondest memory of Sears was our 8th grade musical experience! I still have high resolution large photos from the play! Sharon Selvaggio

Sharon: My deepest apologies! Of course you were Bette. And, PK was Nancy. I imagine that two Julie’s: Greer and Herlocker, were in there somewhere too. And, many others who my memory cannot connect now. Those pictures would be something to see - some great memories! Thanks for checking in.

My suburban grade school also had a 8th grade musical. I tried out with great hope, only to find that I was stuffed into the chorus. This was an embarrassment since I had previously been turned down as a member of the 8th grade choir, so I knew my role was to stand in the back row, look inconspicuous and mouth the words. In the 9th grade play the next year, I was cast as a dog and was delegated to lying on the floor with a rug over me and bark once. I have been scarred for years.

And OMG that commercial makes me cringe. I hate it and every iteration they have made. The original almost drove me to madness.

It is indeed cringeworthy, Gail. Yet another cross for we Jardiancers to bear.

The stage can be a fickle mistress, leaving many would-be suitors in its wake. My wife spoke with my son's music teacher years ago, who was delighted that he would not be performing in that night's concert, because he merely stood in the front row of the chorus and scowled, without singing - she didn't want that on her stage, apparently.
