The song title "Brown-eyed girl" reminded me of "Brown Girl in the Ring," a song from 1978 by Boney M, a group that enjoyed far more popularity in the rest of the world than in the U.S.
Bill, I don't read obit’s and until 30 minutes ago I am certain I have never heard of Astrud Gilberto. RPI Astrud. This, though, did trigger a memory. Some short fifty years ago I was a member of the Shunganunga Valley Jazz Ensemble, a trio ( and sometimes quartet, when Erin “Whatshername”joined us to sing). Our opening number was always The Girl From Ipanema . Thanks for this.
Another potential column, along with the previously promised Monkey column, would be Willie Nelson duets . My favorite is "Seven Spanish Angels" - with Ray Charles.
No mention of "Girls Girls Girls" by Mötley Crüe? A timeless classic...seriously.
Clearly an oversight - my apologies.

I’m not familiar with Willie’s duets, but I was a fan of his late-1970’s album, “Stardust.”
I just introduced my grandson to The Girl from Ipanema this week! But I'm not sure it will move Brown-eyed Girl out of the top position for me 🙂
