Intrigued by your lowling offer - could bowl at Wilmette Lanes! What is your shirt made of. I'm a cotton gal. Can't do synthetic fabrics, though I think bowling is a synthetic-forward sport. Here's one of the scariest things I've ever done - did not wear socks when renting a rasty, nasty, probably toe-fungus infested bowling shoe. Always wondered why bowling shoes were multi-colored, but then concludes this strtegy would eliminate stealing.
Excellent column Bill and great idea. This Tuesday I will be watching the KU game and miss hitting the lanes. Also, as an alternative to bowling, if your situation doesnt allow, you could watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgSqm8-wXWA - The Big Lebowski which is always a good time.
“The Big Lebowski” is awesome! I wrote about it recently after seeing it for the first time. I plan to watch the Jayhawks in about 15 minutes, so I’m with you on that imperative. . .
My first game as a girl I bowled an 18 at Strike and Spare in Glencoe. My first game of miniature golf at Kiddie Land I shot a 99. Backwards. My best bowling score was 99! I once shot three strikes in a row and it was down the gutter from there. Never bowl and don't want to, so no league for me. I always however, wanted one of those blue and white patterened balls...no more but as a yute.
Now that is one cool bowling shirt. Just proves that it’s always Fashion Week somewhere. I have to admit, however, that I have probably only bowled about three times in my entire life. I think my highest score was 96. So I think I’ll pass. I doubt that even a cool bowling shirt would help. 😊

Your biggest mistake was letting them write "Dad" on the score sheet. You were destined to lose. Next time, try Bill "The Real Deal" Southern.

Melvin, I love that the “Real Deal’s” dominant hand is “right, and that he possesses a “cranker delivery.”

Sounds like 99 is your magic number, Gail.

Thanks, Mary - I think I need the shoes to complete the outfit.
The right accessories do make the outfit shine! Especially if they’re gold-plated.
